Caring for the children

POOSC has been looking after the children of Paddington for over 30 years! POOSC is a place where children can play and learn, where staff are professional and families and the community are valued and included
We run a before school & after school care service for the children of Paddington Public School. Vacation care is available for all children aged 5-12 years old who are enrolled in school in this current year

Our service is a non for profit childcare that runs within the grounds of Paddington Public school
Our dedicated Coordinator, Assistant Coordinator and Vacation Care Manager are committed to supporting our non-profit service and are responsible to the POOSC Parents Committee
Our committee is made up of parents & guardians of the children of the centre. If you are interested in sharing ideas & engaging in how the service runs, please let us know we would love to have you on board!

Children are signed out and released into the care of school
Before School care operates in the Community Room & in the playground
After School Care Routine
3pm After Care Opens
Children arrive from school and sign in to care with our educators
3.10pm Eating and play time
Hand washing and afternoon followed by programmed activites and free play
5.15pm Pack Up Time
The children work together to pack away most of the toys & equipment. Group games and quiet activities
6pm POOSC Closes
After School care operates in the playground. If the weather is not suitable, we set up in the hall, Community room or classrooms

The safety and welfare of all children is paramount and educators and management have a legal responsibility, as Mandatory Reporters, to act, protect and support children they suspect may be at significant risk of harm. We have zero tolerance of child abuse, and all allegations and safety concerns will be treated seriously and dealt with swiftly in accordance with specific policies and procedures tailor to child protection and safety.

has arrived at Paddington
We operate Vacation Care during NSW school holiday periods and selected pupil free days/school staff development days. We are licensed to provide Vacation care to children aged 5-12 years old and who are enrolled and attending school in the current calendar year.

$75.00
Any additional activity costs, such as incursions and excursions will be advertised with each terms Vacation Care program
Childcare Subsidy is applied to both fees and activity costs and is availiable for all eligible families
